Stretching a food budget is difficult sometime. That’s where Coker UMC can help. Angel Food Ministries, a national non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. And now Coker is part of this ministry—a food ministry with a servant’s heart.
  
How does it work?
· Fill out an order form for the month.
· Orders and payment are only accepted on Distribution Day* and on designated Sundays at Coker UMC.

· Pay for your order when you turn in your form.
· Pick up your order on Distribution Day at Coker.

Orders and payments made on Distribution Day are for the following month's groceries.

 

 

What kind of food?
· Each month's menu is different from the previous month. Click here to see menus.
· Food items are both fresh and frozen.
· The food is the same high quality as you would buy in the grocery store.
· There are no second-hand items and no damaged or out-dated goods.
· Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. 

 
How much will I pay?
· Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a large box for $30 per unit. (Average retail value is approximately $50 or more.)
· Monthly specials, at varying prices, are also available with the purchase of a regular box.
 
How will I pay?
· Cash
· Money Order, payable to Coker UMC
· Lone Star Card
(These are the only payment methods accepted. No credit cards or checks.)
 
Who can buy Angel Food’s groceries?
· YOU! There are NO applications to complete or qualifications to meet.
 
 
 

Angel Food Ministry is Growing at Coker!

 

Coker UMC became an Angel Food Distribution site serving 20 area churches on March 1, 2008.
 
Join the Angel Food Distribution Crew for a few hours the last Saturday of each month in support of this new ministry.  We need:
  • Greeters
  • Escorts
  • Forklift operators
  • Table volunteers
  • Food preparers
  • Pallet jack operators
