Eagle Pass

Due to increasing violence in Mexico, mission trips to Piedras Negras are on hold.  However, that doesn't mean the need is on hold.  The need is greater than ever.  We have decided to send missionaries to Eagle Pass, Texas, with food and supplies every other month and have representatives from Piedras Negras cross over and take the supplies back with them into Mexico.  We will NOT cross the border.  We will remain on the US side at all times.

Adult Mission Trip to Eagle Pass, TX

January 13 - 16, 2012

After an extremely beneficial and spiritually rewarding trip in October, we have decided to make this Mission a quarterly event. The need in the Colonias in this area is immense, but we can make a difference in their living conditions, as well as their spiritual journey.

Poverty and illiteracy are very high in Eagle Pass. This trip we will be doing some light construction projects (no experience or skill required) for people who need help maintaining their homes, as well as having a book fair for children and adults, in conjunction with their ongoing literacy project. The Mission team is also collecting new or gently used books for children and adults, so any book donations would be greatly appreciated.

The only requirement is a “Mission -Minded Heart”. We leave Friday after work, do our projects on Saturday, Church on Sunday, and since Monday is a holiday, we will be doing a book fair on Monday. We will then head back to San Antonio on Monday. If you can't stay the whole weekend, come for what you can.
