One Less Thing to Worry About... What if there’s an accident? How will we pay for college? When will they get home from Iraq? What about the lay off? What if the dementia gets worse? When will we get the test results? Don’t you have enough to worry about?
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:25, 33-34 NRSV) You don’t have to worry about what will happen to your loved ones after your death. You don’t have to worry about how your worldly possessions will be distributed when you no longer need them. You don’t have to worry about your funeral arrangements. Yes, we will all die … each one of us. But we don’t have to worry about it. We have a promise of eternal life. And we can plan for the transition. Do you have a current will? Do you have an estate plan? The Gift Planning Committee is offering a workshop on “Estate Planning and Wills” on Thursday, September 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Wesley 703/704. Child care will be provided. Please plan on participating. Estate planning gives you and your loved ones one less thing to worry about. |
