"Caregiver Stress and Community Resources"
Presented by Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio
Tuesday, August 24
6:30 - 7:30 PM in Wesley 703/704
Are you so overwhelmed by taking care of someone else that you have neglected your own physical, mental, and emotional well-being? If you find yourself without time to take care of your own needs, you may be putting yourself and your health at risk. Please come and learn ways to care for yourself as you care for another. A list of community resources and other materials will be available.
After the program, we will take a poll about interest in starting an Alzheimer's support group here at Coker. If there is an interest and someone steps forward to lead the group, then we can talk about the next steps in starting a group.
We are on the MOVE to end Alzheimer's...we invite you to join us.
Spiritual Enrichment Retreat
"Day Apart" Prayer Retreat on August 28
Art and Contemplative Vision
Young adults, youth, men & women of all ages & spiritual stages are invited to spend "a day apart" on Saturday, August 28. This prayer workshop, designed to integrate prayer and art, will be led by artist and retreat leader Billy Keen. The goal of this day apart will
not be to produce works of art but instead to give attention to the process and discipline of art as it aids contemplative life and practice. Various art forms will become aids to enhance our spiritual vision and help us to see God, ourselves, and the world around us in new ways. No artistic ability or previous experience is needed. This prayer opportunity is offered by Coker Spiritual Enrichment ministries as a means of grace and deeper spiritual growth. For more information,
