Cactus Pear Music Festival Season 14 Comes to Coker!

The premier summer music festival in San Antonio has a brand new home!  Coker UMC will be the new venue for the Cactus Pear Music Festival (CPMF) in July.  The four performances over a two week span bring chamber artists from all over the world to our campus along with founding Artistic Director Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio.  Tickets to all four CPMF performances will be available under the Gazebo every Sunday in June starting June 6.

About bringing CPMF to Coker, Ms. Sant'Ambrogio says:
"We are all thrilled about moving Cactus Pear's 14th festival season to Coker United Methodist Church!  The Sanctuary is spacious, yet intimate, the congregation is welcoming us with open arms, and we love Coker's ample parking.  The CPMF Board of Directors, our Executive Director Reneé Davis, and I hope that our presence will also complement the music mission that Coker UMC has itself been embracing for the past 23 seasons through Arts at Coker, the church's performing arts series."

CPMF's Season 14 is set for the first downbeat.  Ms. Sant'Ambrogio has invited a dozen world-class musicians and created four "pear-fect" programs.  The programs will celebrate an "ambrosia of anniversaries," bring back San Antonio's favorite baritone Timothy Jones, premiere CPMF's commissioned work by composer Timothy Kramer - his Three Pairs Suite - and culminate with a Baroque Bacchanal.

We are blessed to have this outstanding music festival and performers call Coker UMC home.  Please visit the festival website at www.cpmf.us to learn more about this year's festival dates and performers, or contact the music and worship office at 494-3455, ext. 260 for more information.
