SERVICES:  Services usually last about an hour. The chapel service and sanctuary services feature traditional hymns on piano and organ. The sanctuary service also features choir anthems and special music. The Coker orchestra and handbell choir each play in the sanctuary services once a month. In the Celebrate! contemporary service (located in the Upper Room of the John Gibbs Building), a praise band leads worship.

 

SERVICE TIMES:  Sunday morning services are 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 AM in the sanctuary and an 11:00 Celebrate! contemporary service in the Upper Room.  Saturday night worship is at 5:00 PM in the chapel.

ARRIVING:  Special-needs parking and visitor parking are available in the parking lot just outside the sanctuary and Upper Room. A shuttle is also available to transport guests from the lower parking lot to the sanctuary or Upper Room. The greeters at the Welcome Center can answer any questions you might have.

 

WELCOME CENTER:  A staffed welcome center is located just outside the sanctuary.  Information on our church and many of its ministries is available here.

 

USHERS:  As you enter any of our worship spaces, ushers are available to assist you with any questions or special needs regarding seating, hearing assist devices, or other requests.  Should you need help during a service, feel free to go to an usher to request assistance.

 

SPECIAL NEEDS:  Large-print hymnals and hearing-assist stations are available in the chapel and sanctuary.

PASSING THE PEACE:  At the beginning of each of our services, the congregation is given a time to greet one another.  We welcome you to use this time to introduce yourself to those around you.

COME AS YOU ARE:  Dress however you see fit. At Coker, you will see everything from blue jeans to three-piece suits.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Sunday School for all ages is offered at 9:30.

 

BRING THE KIDS:  Children’s activity booklets are available for all services. A quiet/cry room is available in the back of the sanctuary.  Child care is provided in the nursery for Saturday and Sunday worship services, Emmaus, Bible studies, adult choir, AA, Al-Anon, S-Anon, and a variety of other events.  If you need to make a reservation for another event, you can call the church office, fill out a nursery request form here, or stop by and meet our nursery staff.

YOUNG DISCIPLES' TIME:  The 8:15 Sanctuary service and 11:00 Sanctuary and Celebrate! services feature a special time for children just before the sermon.  No Young Disciples' Time on the first Sunday of each month.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH:  After Young Disciple's Time in the 11:00 services, kids are welcome to go with the Children's Church leader for a time of learning and fun.  No Children's Church in the summer or on the first Sunday of each month.

STUDENT MINISTRY:  In addition to Sunday School in the morning, youth (6th-12th grades) can participate in Catalyst Student Ministry fellowship from 6:00 to 7:30 on Sunday nights.
