Welcome to Coker United Methodist Church! If you are new to Coker, we would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to join us in worship or in any of our ministries.
Traditional services are Saturday at 5:00 pm in the historic Coker Chapel. Bilingual worship is Saturday at 5:00 pm in the Upper Room chapel in the Gibbs building. Sunday services are at 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. For more information, call the Church office at 494-3455. All are welcome! Sundays at a glance...
Coker offers four worship services each week. Services usually last about an hour. Communion is offered every Sunday at the 8:15 am service, and on the first Sunday of each month in all other services.
Sunday mornings at 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary.
Saturday evenings at 5:00 pm in the historic Coker Chapel. Beginning September 10, we will offer a bilingual worship service on Saturday evenings at 5:00 pm in the Upper Room chapel, second floor in the John Gibbs building.
Traditional worship services are at 8:15 and 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. These services feature traditional and special music with piano, organ and choir. The Opportunity Orchestra and the Jubilee handbell choir appear monthly in sanctuary services. A contemporary worship service is conducted at 9:30 am in the Sanctuary. This service is an energetic combination of contemporary music, along with traditional worship elements. The Saturday evening Chapel service is a traditional worship service with conventional hymns on piano and organ.
Special-needs parking and visitor parking are available in the parking lot just outside the sanctuary and Upper Room. A shuttle is also available to transport guests from the lower parking lot to the sanctuary or Upper Room. The greeters at the Welcome Center can answer any questions you might have.
A staffed welcome center is located just outside the sanctuary. Information on our church and many of its ministries is available here.
As you enter any of our worship spaces, ushers are available to assist you with any questions or special needs regarding seating, hearing assist devices, or other requests. Should you need help during a service, feel free to go to an usher to request assistance.
Large-print hymnals and hearing-assist stations are available in the chapel and sanctuary.
PASSING THE PEACE:
At the beginning of each of our services, the congregation is given a time to greet one another. We welcome you to use this time to introduce yourself to those around you.
COME AS YOU ARE:
Dress however you see fit. At Coker, you will see everything from blue jeans to three-piece suits.

BRING THE KIDS:
Children’s activity booklets are available for all services. A quiet/cry room is available in the back of the sanctuary. Child care is provided in the nursery for Saturday and Sunday worship services, Emmaus, Bible studies, adult choir, AA, Al-Anon, S-Anon, and a variety of other events. If you need to make a reservation for another event, you can call the church office, fill out a nursery request form here, or stop by and meet our nursery staff.
YOUNG DISCIPLES' TIME:
The 8:15 Sanctuary service and 11:00 Sanctuary services feature a special time for children just before the sermon. No Young Disciples' Time on the first Sunday of each month.
In addition to Sunday School in the morning, youth (6th-12th grades) can participate in Student Ministry fellowship, with Bible studies, youth events and summer activities.
